Woozyhelmet

Listen:

Woozyhelmet was born on a crisp autumn afternoon in 1997 at the 21st street Co-op in Austin, Texas. Longtime collaborators Jay Crossley and Toto Miranda (of Houston) conspired with Brandi DiPietro (of San Antonio)to form a band that would play the co-op's birthday party 3 days before the event. In the years since, they have released 2 CDs and several EPs on their label Soda Pop Sounds, and have been featured on numerous compilations. Their latest CD made the charts on college radio stations all over the US and held the top spot on Houston's KTRU for 6 weeks. Woozyhelmet has entertained audiences with their exuberant reckless pop at events benefiting Accion Zapatista, Amnesty International, KVRX student radio, Girl Day 1999, get out the vote 2004, and Ladyfest Philadelphia. They also like kittens and chocolate.

White Whale

White Whale is a two piece band from Houston, Texas. Featuring Matt Murillo from the JUNIOR VARSITY and THEE KA-NIVES on the drums, and THE WIll Freed from DEFEND THE GHETTO on guitar ....both sing or scream rather and it is a horrendous racket truth be told! But the WHITE WHALE is kinda like the "TACO PIZZA" at a CiCi's Buffet....at first it seems like a horrible idea, but the more you eat the more BRILLIANT sense it all seems to make in the end.

The Slurpees

Listen:

The Slurpees are a rock band from Houston who don' t sound like any other rock band you've heard. Alternating and blending Punk with Funk, with a dash of blues, and a pinch of metal, they make a high-energy, vitamin fortified Rock n' Roll Slurpee that will get you through your busy day. Get dosed up close and personal at one of their legendary live sets; just watch out for discarded slurpees, vacuum cleaner innards, defective gear, etc. that might be thrown your way.
